Day 01 - Airport - Bentota

Upon your arrival at the Bandaranayke Airport, Colombo, you will get your first taste of the warm Sri Lankan hospitality from our local representative, before your private transfer to Bentota for check-in at the Heritance Ayurvedha Mahagedara.

Bentota is part of the famed stretch of beach called the “Golden Mile”. We will enjoy lunch with the afternoon at leisure to explore the picturesque beachside setting. The sea and adjoining Bentara River provide the perfect place to enjoy water sports such as swimming, diving, jet-skiing, windsurfing and parasailing. This evening, join your guide and travel companions for a welcome dinner.

Day 02 - Bentota

Today it is all about YOU and getting into the holiday mode. Sri Lanka has a rich history of using traditional Ayurvedic treatments to combat stress, promote rejuvenation, and help with weight loss. Our hotel, the Heritance Ayurvedha Mahagedara, has been voted best in the world in this field, so the only thing you have to do is to relax and indulge in pampering treatments.

Day 03 - Bentota - Hambantota

This morning we transfer to Hambantota. En route, we stop at the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, famous for its sea turtle conservation project. We then proceed to Galle, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a town of great beauty by the sea and bursting with colonial reminders of bygone days, little boutique shops, cafes and hotels owned by local and foreign artists, writers, photographers, designers and poets.

We continue our journey to Hambantota, where we settle into our stunning beachfront hotel, the Shangri-La Hambantota. Nestled beside the Indian Ocean and framed by swaying king coconut trees, the resort oozes luxury and is within easy reach of some of the world’s most captivating wildlife.

Day 04 - Hambantota

Anticipation will be high this morning as we play our first round of golf at Shangri-La Hambantota Golf and Country Club. Designed by Rodney Wright, this premier 18-hole golf course is set amid a vast coconut plantation. You will play three zones that present infinity ocean views, wide fairways and testing water and bunker features. Lush vegetation and birdlife can be seen along the 5,584-metre long course.

The afternoon will be yours to do as you wish. Right on the hotel grounds, you will find a cultural village which you can explore at will and interact with local artisans and craftsmen. You will learn the traditional artistry of pottery, ceramics, wood carvings and weavings. In the evening, the village transforms into an entertainment venue, showcasing Sri Lankan music and dance performances of Angampora (Sri Lanka’s indigenous martial art and one of the oldest fighting disciplines in the world).

Day 05 - Hambantota

Today, we go on an awe-inspiring jeep safari to Yala National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s most fascinating nature sanctuaries and home to the world’s highest concentration of leopards. With monkeys swinging through the trees, elegant peacocks proudly parading, and elephants roaming freely, Yala is the glorious incarnation of Disney’s Jungle Book – be sure to take your camera.

Day 06 - Hambantota

You will be keen to return for a second round set amongst the natural beauty of Shangri-La Hambantota. After golf, step into the clubhouse, it’s the ideal spot to relax and unwind. With the afternoon at leisure you are spoilt for choice with a kaleidoscope of activities to choose from. Take a leisurely stroll along the beaches stretching 150 kilometres or a cultural tour of heritage sites such as Dagobas or Viharas.

Day 07 - Hambantota - Nuwara Eliya

Enjoy breakfast before we transfer to Nuwara Eliya, also known as “Little England”. We take time to stop at Ella Gap where the views towards the south coast are stunning. The scenic town of Nuwara Eliya lies nestled in a green valley more than 2,500m above sea level. You’ll find yourself surrounded by mountain ranges covered in pine forests and tea cultivations. This evening we will dine and stay within a quaint Elizabethan style hotel nestled in-between the misty mountains of Nuwara Eliya. The Grand Hotel encompasses a regal ambience being the former mansion of Sir Edward Barnes, the Governor of Sri Lanka from 1830-1850.

Day 08 - Nuwara Eliya - Kandy

Today, we make our way to Kandy and stop at a tea plantation to watch the whole process of tea manufacturing, from green leaf to the fragrant packet of Ceylon Tea. Then, we check-in to our postcard perfect hotel, the Cinnamon Citadel, nestled high in the hills not far from the city’s bustling center. Kandy has an abundance of culture and history. You will visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. This heavily guarded Buddhist temple room houses what is Sri Lanka’s most important Buddhist relic. We will enjoy a group lunch.

The afternoon is yours to explore the streets and immerse yourself in the rich local culture. You may like to visit the gem shops that will have you in awe and enjoy local gem-cutting demonstrations. This evening, we meet together to attend the Kandy Cultural Show; a vibrant show of traditional dance and enchanting rhythms.

Day 09 - Kandy

Golf takes centre stage today with a round at the Victoria Golf Club. This resort spans over 517 acres of lush green land and is surrounded by the blue waters of the Victoria Reservoir, against the backdrop of the Knuckles mountain range. Designed by renowned golf course architect Donald Steel, this 6,945-yard, par-73 course is a favourite amongst local and foreign golfers. Non-golfers can choose to go horse riding or biking. We will enjoy dinner and a relaxing evening nestled in our hillside oasis.

Day 10 - Kandy - Colombo

This morning, we make our way to Colombo via the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. After we check-in to our hotel, we take a city sights tour to discover Colombo. This city is where Sri Lanka’s economic and financial heart beats. You will wind your way through the bazaars of the Pettah area to Colombo’s central business district, a curious mix of brash modern structures, like the World Trade Centre, mixed in with colonial architecture. Colombo will satisfy everyone’s appetite for history and culture amongst the shady tree-lined boulevards of today. Surprises abound in its old quarters where you can find great local food and discover a characterful shop or tiny, convivial cafe. The capital is an excellent finish to your Sri Lankan adventures.

Day 11 - Colombo

Our final round of golf is at the Royal Colombo Golf Club. This is the oldest golf club in Sri Lanka and the 2nd oldest Royal Golf Club outside the British Isles. The club was opened by British Governor, Sir Joseph West Ridgeway, 130 years ago. The golf course measures 5,770 yards in length and has many water hazards to challenge players. Situated in the midst of Colombo City, the Golf Course is an oasis of greenery, cool breezes and refreshing openness in a tropical environment. Tonight we have our final dinner together. We toast our champions, reminisce on all of the fun we’ve had and celebrate new friendships.

Day 12 - Colombo - Airport

Today, depending on your departure flight time, you can either relax or check out of the hotel. Don’t forget to recollect the memories of your trip with your chauffer and write your feedback.
