A three bedroom, Geoffrey Bawa designed cliff top pavilion that offers breath-taking views across Weligama Bay and beyond. The villa consists of a master bedroom suite with a view and a double and twin below. The frame and furnishing of this villa have been stripped back to its simplest form so that the prime position and astonishing panorama do all the talking. Steps lead you down to an exclusive private beach, which is a barefoot luxury of its own.
Experience at the Red Cliffs
The estate features three bedrooms. One located on a higher split level of the garden above the living pavilion and the other two at the level below. The upper level room is designed open-concept providing you with fresh ocean breezes throughout and the rooms are adjoined by a lounge area overlooking the ocean. The lower level rooms open up directly to the garden. Two of the rooms feature large king-size beds draped with white mosquito nets and they come with private En-suites fitted with rain-showers and some even with a large soaking bathtub. The twin-bedded room is perfect for the kids, sharing the bathroom of the parents.
In keeping with Bawa’s architectural style of erasing boundaries between the inside and out, the living and dining areas open out to the swimming pool, sprawling gardens, the surrounding red cliffs, and spectacular views of the Indian Ocean. The living and dining area are furnished with lounge chairs and a dining table that are Bawa’s original designs. Redcliff’s has a housekeeper and a cook who will prepare tasty meals to your liking. Sri Lankan cuisine, BBQs and snacks are available prepared with fresh seafood purchased from the local fisherman.
There is a small lounge at a level below which is equipped with satellite TV, fridge, and a small pantry with filtered water, crockery and cutlery. The split-level cliff-edged garden features a breathtaking private swimming pool where you can swim laps while gazing at the enchanting view of the endless blue ocean with the gorgeous red cliffs as the backdrop. The estate also features two pristine private beaches for afternoon beach strolls, swimming and snorkeling. In the garden there are sunbeds for those wanting to tan, deluxe day-beds for day-time snoozing or reading books and hammocks for ultimate relaxation to the calming sound of the ocean’s waves, soft wind breezes and the singing of birds. The alfresco dining area is perfect for BBQ garden feasts or intimate candlelight dinners beneath the starry sky.
