Wetakeiya House is an elegant three-bedroom villa on a terraced coconut grove. It is well-designed with courtyards and verandas that are ideal for indoor and outdoor living. Interiors are stylishly decorated with plush sofas, local art and vibrant soft furnishings and are equipped with modern conveniences. The local couple that manages the villa will ensure there is plenty of food, from sumptuous Sri Lankan and western meals to home-baked cakes and desserts. Wetakeiya House is booked as a whole villa and can accommodate up to six guests.
Experience at the Wetakeiya House
The villa has three air-conditioned bedrooms. The master bedroom has a draped, king-sized bed, as well as a dedicated bathroom with a rain shower. There are two more guest rooms – one with a draped, queen-sized bed, and the other, with a draped, double bed. Both bedrooms have dedicated bathrooms with rain showers. Both also open out to a shared, covered terrace and to a pond.
On the covered terrace – opposite the day beds and the hammock – is the alfresco dining area. On its long, timber wood table that accommodates 10, you can all get a taste of authentic local cuisine – as well as international favorites – dished out by the resident chef at the villa’s well-equipped, modern kitchen.
There is a cozy TV lounge equipped with satellite TV, DVD player and collection of movies. Meals are served on the terrace or outdoors in the garden. There is also a swimming pool and a small ambalama (pavilion) which is ideal for yoga or watching the sunset.
